STUDENT MINISTRIES
Our student ministries exist for the purpose of walking alongside our parents as they seek to raise mature disciples of Christ. Since we believe our parents are the most influential people in the lives of our students, it is our goal to train and equip the parents to be the primary disciplers of the children. However, we also believe that the church in equipping the parents also is called to walk alongside the children as we engage in faith relationships with their children. We seek to engage in these faith relationships with our students by equipping them with the gospel, by connecting them to other relationships within our church, and by giving them a sense of belonging to our church through service oriented ministries to our congregation and community. All of this is done with the hope of building strong families of faith at Concord.
PLT (Parent Leadership Team)
Regularly, our parent leadership team will be gathering together to discuss ways in which our church can better help to equip and encourage parents who are seeking to be the primary disciplers of their children as well as to discuss ways in which our church can better equip and encourage our students in their relationship with God.
Upcoming Activities...
Equipping with the Gospel: (Below are some of the ways of education and application in which we as a church believe we can best help our students. We believe the deeper they understand how good and gracious God has been to them by giving up His Son to purchase their salvation, the greater they will have a love for God and show it in the way they live their lives.)
Student Ministry: (This is our group time together where the teens and leaders gather together to study how God calls us to live within our world.)
When: 2nd and 4th Sunday (meet at the Concord site)- 6:00pm-8:00pm
Topic- Relationship in the Making- How do we develop healthy relationships?
Girls Night Out: (This is a time set aside for our teen girls to talk about real life issues with the intent of helping them work through their questions as well as as providing them with a time for deeper relationships with their peers.)
When: 1st and 3rd Thursday (meet at the Smiths)- 7:00pm-8:30pm
Topic- Questions from the hearts of teens
Connectors: (Our connector times are meant to give our teens opportunities to deepen their friendship with other teens as well as adults from our church so that the growth of these friendships would impact their lives spiritually.)
Belonging: (We want our teens to have a sense of belonging to our church. We believe the best way to accomplish this goal is to have our teens involved in serving others from within church or within our community.)
